Meg Strikes Again

Yup, it's an alternating Friday, so we have new goodies from Meg of Twisted fame

She's got her usual 100% merino sock-weight base in stock, so that's what she dyed this time around. Ooooh-lah-lah, it's lovely and soft and knits up smashingly beautiful! The skeins are $27 each for 480 yards of 100% merino superwash--more than enough to knit a pair of sock, especially for those of you who create what I call "Socks of Love" (men's socks for feet size 12 and up).

Need some? Just slip me an e-mail or contact the shop (toll free) at 866-939-BEAR and anyone who answers can help!

Sometime soon I'll actually post pictures of my current/newest knitting projects. I declared the mitered square sock to be too large (off gauge), so I'll be restarting that one over again, but I'll post pictures of it as is sometime soon. I'm teaching at 1 p.m. tomorrow (beginning crochet) and leading our Block-Of-The-Month group at 11, so my day is FULL right now. WAHOO! Fiber for everyone!

Secrets Revealed

Yup, sock group met tonight, we talked about working on either of two different patterns from Heartland Knits (WE LOVE YOU, VICKI), and the yarn was a hit

That's (what's left of) the yarn on display in its new home, a shelving unit here in the shop that we picked up in December at Pier One. But I digress....

For their monthly group project, I suggested either (or both) of the socks from Heartland. I talked of picking up stitches, of working mitered squares, and covered bits about construction. Then I unveiled the new yarn that this group got first pickin's of

See why I love it so? It's BEAUTIFUL

And if there was any doubt, check the labels in this picture

Yup, ThreadBear is now stocking Claudia Hand Painted Yarns. We started with the fingering weight and will add others as it seems appropriate (I think we'll be buying a good bit of fingering for awhile yet).

I have two new socks on the needles (one of each of the above patterns), as I finished the shawl that was keeping me on task/deadline. (remember my rule--two new projects for each finished project). As the FedEx truck sped away today, I remembered----I didn't take a photo of the finished project, in all its glory. I know it will be warmly appreciated and loved by the new owner, when it arrives on Wednesday (SHE HAD BETTER CALL ME!!!). LOL

I'm outta here...I was up too late last night finishing a shawl, watching movies, and working on socks once the shawl was finished (had to have models for tonight....right?). I'm outta here to go home for a bit, as we're sacrificing our traditional Tuesday off to meet with our store manager for lunch, followed by a sales rep calling that afternoon (all this after my "morning of beauty", a.k.a. haircut and pedicure....the pedi? the best money I spend on myself, I swear). Photos of projects in progress to follow.....
